Strike Out Stroke: A Community Event to Raise Awareness and Save Lives

BEND, OREGON — Stroke Awareness Oregon (SAO) invites the Central Oregon community to join us for our annual Strike Out Stroke event on Tuesday, October 28th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Westside Church- 2051 NW Shevlin Park Rd, Bend, OR. This free, family-friendly event aims to educate, empower, and engage our community in the fight against stroke—the leading cause of serious long-term disability and fifth leading cause of death in the United States.
The event will feature:

Educational Resources: Learn the signs and symptoms of stroke using the B.E. F.A.S.T. method and discover how quick action can save a life.

Vendors & Community Partners: Explore booths from local business who have partnered with SAO like Pacific Source, Subaru of Bend, and many more!

Food & Music: Enjoy delicious local eats from Whispering Winds and live entertainment.

Inspiration & Connection: Hear from stroke warriors and meet the dedicated professionals working to improve stroke outcomes across Oregon.
“Our mission is to ensure that every Oregonian recognizes the signs of stroke and knows how to respond,” said Crystal Poquette, Executive Director of Stroke Awareness Oregon. “This event is a celebration of community because together, we can save lives.”
Strike Out Stroke also highlights SAO’s ongoing efforts, including its Stroke Champion program, which encourages supporters to become monthly donors at $18 per month to help sustain local education, prevention, and support initiatives.
