Two Children Perish In House Fire

On Saturday, October 15, 2022, at approximately 5:52am, Deputies from the Crook County Sheriff’s Office and Crook County Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a house fire in Juniper Acres, off of SE Cascade Way and SE Reservoir Road, Prineville, Oregon.
Upon arrival to the residence, the house was engulfed in flames.

“Most family members safely made it out of the house,” stated Crook County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Javier Sanchez. “Even with the quick response from Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue, and residents on scene, two children were not able to get out and are deceased due to the fire. The children’s identity won’t be released in respect for the family.”

“We would like to thank all assisting agencies with this investigation, which included Crook County Fire and Rescue, Deschutes County Fire and Rescue, Alfalfa Fire District, Oregon State Police, the Crook County District Attorney’s Office, and the Prineville Funeral Home. The Crook County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family during this tragic incident.”
