Redmond Proficiency Academy’s (RPA) annual open enrollment period begins on Thursday, February 15 at 8 a.m., and runs through Friday, March 1 at 5 p.m., Executive Director Jon Bullock announced today. The two-week period serves as an opportunity for students and families to learn more about the tuition-free public charter school and apply for admission.
“Open Enrollment is an exciting time each year where families from around Central Oregon are able to compare their current education to the opportunities offered at RPA,” Bullock said. “We look forward to this two-week period where we get to showcase our award-winning theater program, robotics, computer science, Spanish language immersion and so much more.”
RPA features a college prep program that models a university-style scheduling system where students take advanced courses and learn to be effective university students. This flexible scheduling model works well for students and families seeking a choice in their educational experience, one that allows them to focus on additional interests outside of school, including downhill and cross-country ski racing, equestrian events and many other activities. This unique model also allows students of all academic levels and interests to accelerate or decelerate their learning in the manner that works best for the students and their post-high school goals.
“We have an amazing team of teachers and staff who are fully committed to the success of our students, Bullock said. “Our teachers are readily available for one-on-one consulting and developing personalized learning paths for all of our students.”
Bullock cites RPA’s recently announced class of 2023 graduation rate of 97 percent and five-year graduation rate of 99.4 percent as evidence that the school’s innovative approach to education is working well for students.
Applications for enrollment are being accepted for students entering grades six through twelve, and there are currently openings in all grade levels. During Open Enrollment, new students interested in attending RPA should apply online at: rpacademy.org.
Interested students and families are encouraged to schedule a tour during the Open Enrollment Season from February 15 – March 1, which is the best opportunity to secure a place at RPA. Families are also welcome to join RPA for Experience RPA! on Tuesday, February 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. During Experience RPA!, attendees will be able to see current RPA students engaged in performances, demonstrations and other activities that showcase RPA’s offerings at both the middle school and high school campuses. RPA staff will also be on hand to answer any questions about academics, extracurriculars, admissions and more. The event serves as an opportunity for students and families to learn more about RPA before applying or enrolling.
