Authorities in La Pine are on looking for a man who crashed a stolen pickup and fled from deputies on foot. According to a news release from DCSO: Monday at 3:00 a.m., deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 52000 block of Huntington Road in La Pine. Deputies developed a possible suspect and later located the vehicle, a black 1989 Chevy S10, at a residence in the 15400 block of Deer Ave, La Pine.
As deputies were attempting to take the suspect into custody, he fled from the scene in the stolen vehicle. The suspect crashed into multiple trees and other objects while fleeing from the scene. Deputies later located the stolen vehicle near Brooks Lane, but it was unoccupied, and the suspect had fled on foot.
Deputies searched the area of Deer Avenue for a white male with black hair and facial hair, in his early 30’s, and was last seen wearing jeans, an unknown-colored t-shirt, a grayish vest and boots with no laces.
