Avalanche Partially Closes Santiam Pass

odot-logo222282

Expect delays if you are traveling westbound on U.S. 20 over the Santiam Pass. Westbound lanes are blocked by snow from an avalanche at Mile Point 79, just west of the pass. ODOT plows are on the way to clear the snow, but we don’t know how long it will take to completely reopen westbound lanes.

Eastbound lanes are open, but we may need to use them to flag westbound traffic through the area while we clear the snow from the highway. Please use an alternate route or delay your travel if possible. And prepare for winter driving, including carrying tire chains over mountains passes in Oregon. More Info Here
