Bend Endurance Academy (BEA) will host a three-day Performance Bouldering Camp this weekend, attracting youth climbers from across Washington, Oregon, California, and Canada. This rare opportunity brings together athletes who don’t usually train together, offering a high-level, collaborative environment in BEA’s state-of-the-art facility. The event takes place January 17-19th, 2026 at Bend Endurance Academy Facility.

Designed for youth athletes preparing for the USA Climbing Championship season and beyond, the camp will take place inside BEA’s purpose-built facility and feature special guest coach Alex Johnson, alongside the most experienced coaches in the Northwest.By connecting movement, strategy, and mindset, the Performance Bouldering Camp reflects BEA’s broader commitment to athlete-centered development and thoughtful, progressive training.

Athletes will train on comp-style boulders created by BEA’s youth competition-specific setting team, led by Cate Beebe, with support from Cam Daniel and Daphne Spani. Sessions are structured to simulate the demands of championship-level events, giving athletes meaningful exposure to pacing, problem-solving, and decision-making under pressure.

The camp is led by Mike Rougeux, BEA Climbing Director, alongside Alex Johnson, one of the most accomplished American competition climbers of her generation. A former U.S. National Team member and multiple-time national champion, Johnson has competed at the highest levels of international climbing and brings extensive experience in championship preparation and athlete development. Together, they blend technical movement coaching with competition tactics and mental performance strategies. Throughout the weekend, athletes will take part in two full mock competition rounds, complemented by targeted workshops on fueling, recovery, and mindset-mirroring the demands of high-level competition environments.
