At approximately 5:03 a.m., Bend Police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault. The caller, identified as a 66-year Bend man, told dispatchers that he’d hit his roommate in the head with a bat.
When officers arrived to the 19000 block of Arrow Wood Drive, they found his 58-year-old roommate with severe head injuries. Officers provided medical aid to the man until medics arrived. The victim was transported to St. Charles Bend where he remains in the intensive care unit.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bend Police Department before being jailed at the Deschutes County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
